Masterson’s Pub , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I discovered behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .
The State of the Venue : Squalid and Neglected
From the moment I walked in , it was evident that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The floors were sticky , and a nauseating aroma of uncleaned spills and filthy restrooms suffused the entire pub. Reeking of a mixture of human waste, old age and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the focal point of any pub, was overflowing with soiled cups and trash that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks . The lavatory was in even a more revolting state —overflowing , with a snapped lever and walls stained in what I can only assume was fecal matter .
It wasn’t just a single bad experience either. After reading through multiple accounts and talking to people around , it seems that the level of hygiene (or lack thereof) at this so-called establishment is a long-standing issue . Many guests have reported witnessing insects darting across the bar area and signs of rats in the bar and house area . For a business that serves drinks , these issues are completely unacceptable and raise a fantastic read serious concerns about the sanitation of the food and drinks .

During my time there, I noticed how distressed several women seemed around Cornwell. As I asked around, I was check here. alarmed to find numerous complaints against him involving misconduct , with multiple women accusing him of sending indecent material . Described as disturbingly assertive and disrespectful , Cornwell’s misconduct has created an unsafe environment for women who visit Masterson’s. His presence at the bar often seemed closer to that of a lurking threat than a genial proprietor .

Pete’s wife, Mrs. McKenzie , is a co-operator and frequently seen supervising the venue. Instead of taking action to alleviate the damage done by bar mastersons her husband’s actions, she seems to endorse his behavior.
